A New Dawn cover California Publishing

The Edited version of A New Dawn is ready.

After a lot of hard work on my part and thanks to the help of the editor Cathy Speight and Margaret Mairs who designed the cover, the book is finally ready. Thanks for your efforts ladies.

Up until the official launch, the book will be available, only from Amazon for $0.99 in the US,  £0.75 in the UK, and €0.86 in Europe.

I would really appreciate it if as many of you as possible could give a review of the book on Amazon once you have read it, but most of all I hope you enjoy what you read.

A special thank you to all the people who have taken the time to read the book in its rough form and given me the encouragement to finish the series.  And especially to those of you who have already taken the time to write reviews or rate the book on Amazon, Goodreads and Smashwords.

The series is almost complete bar the editing and I will keep you up to date.

What do you think of Colin Butcher?

Hi Everyone

I can’t help but notice the number of hits that Colin’s Assignment has had in the relatively short time that it has been online.

It’s quite funny really how this character developed.  He was going to play a far smaller role in the book than he eventually did, but the more I wrote about him the more I began to like him and his role in the story expanded.

I would love your feedback.

Fans Cafe

I would like to thank you all for your support with the new forum and for the comments you have made about the series.  Don’t forget to tell your friends.

As you know we have the Sahara Saved Me competition but I am open to suggestions if you have any that might make the forum more enjoyable.  I have already had one suggestion to start a forum for the short story entries and we will be implementing this in the next week.

Look forward to hearing from you all and will be posting a new short story within the next few days.

The Guardian’s Chronicles – A Journey Shared

One of the first questions that people ask me is why did you start writing?

The answer is simply that it’s something that I have always done.  I haven’t always finished what I started for one reason or another but there has always been a work in progress.

With The Guardian’s Chronicles it was very different.  I started and was unable to put my computer away until A New Dawn was complete.

Although the Series is essentially a classic tale of good versus evil, it is more importantly about people.  In particular a young girl who was born and brought up in the village of Clayton in Bradford.

Sahara is an ordinary girl who goes on to do extraordinary things.  It tells of how she overcomes  loss and disappointment and still manages to come through it and rise to the challenges she is faced with.

It is a story of love, and hope and the lengths we will go to to keep the people we love safe.  But it is also a gritty novel that deals with evil and injustice.  Without these things it is impossible to tell the tale in a believable way.

Sidney Lumet said;
“Making a movie has always been about telling a story.
Some movies tell a story and leave you with a feeling.
Some tell a story and leave you with a feeling and give
you an idea. Some tell a story, leave you with a feeling,
give you an idea, and reveal something about yourself
and others.”

Although this is a book and not a movie I hope that to some small degree I have achieved this with A New Dawn, the 1st Volume of the Series.

Sahara is in all of us. She is the voice inside us telling us to get up and get on with it no matter how tough things get.   She is where we get our inspiration and the courage to take our lives into your own hands and be all that we can be.  But most of all Sahara is the good in all of us, that part of us that sees beauty all around and can still laugh through our hardest trials.

The journey of The Guardian’s Chronicles may start in a small village but this first volume is played out in 3 different continents and it touches the lives of people from all over the world.  In bringing these elements together it serves as a reminder that we are not alone.  And that even things that are happening on the other side of the world can and do affect our lives.  Sometimes in the most profound way.

I really hope that you enjoy the journey and grow to love Sahara and her friends as much as I do.

Already the input I have had from the people who have read A New Dawn has been more than I expected, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank those of you who have either commented or emailed me.

I look forward to sharing the experience of the journey with you throughout the series.
